I come from a small town in BC, you've probably never heard of it but it has skiing and rhymes with "learnin'" if you say it southern enough. On account of my mom, I've been playing retro games probably before I was able to talk, and I'd fall in love with indie games only a few years later when my dad bought me a Steam account with Super Meat Boy and Fez. (I think he must've watched that documentary and gotten fired up.)
I'm a sucker for the Mother series and of course by law that makes me obsessed with Toby Fox, but also more abstracted inspirations (Yume Nikki, Omori, Hylics, Space Funeral, LISA, to name a few). Other non-RPG adorations include: Firewatch, NITW, all things Bennett Foddy, and Despelote.
Since moving away from BC, I've spent a year in Edmonton at a game development program, then a year at Sheridan College in Oakville. I've been charmed by that sweet sweet Toronto atmosphere, so I moved into the city officially this summer hoping to meet new faces and find new opportunities.
My only non-solo project ( done with friends ). A top down shootem up with rpg characteristics, winner of 3rd place at spring 2D jam. Worked mostly as the artist and design/direction. Jam lasted 2 days.
An experimental psychological horror game project that blends rotoscoping and photoshopped images to create a unique visual look.
I make a lot of jrpg projects, it's a genre I'm particularly passionate for, but also a genre that brings out my perfectionism, I've accumulated a trash pile of rpg projects over the years.
A photo essay on after-dark street commerce, shot over six months across three cities.
